The original cover of the DS Smith paper industry was made with a self-supporting curved profile that did not have the necessary characteristics to withstand extraordinary actions. Several factors influenced the collapse of the same, among others a significant snowfall together with an incorrect dimensioning of the curved sheet.
Incoperfil’s technical department determined the most appropriate profile model and thickness for the project location, taking into account the specific wind and snow loads. The sandwich curved roof system has relied on the INCO 70.4 Curved 1.00 mm thick profile as a support and to cover a free span of 8.80 m. Next, the roof has insulation and an intermediate batten to fix the upper or closing profile, in this case made with the INCO 30.5 Curved profile in tile red.
The skylights were resolved with the INCO 70.4 curved microperforated R3T6 profile at the bottom and the upper part of the sandwich is closed with the Incopol 30.5 Curved polycarbonate profile.
